It was a lovefest at Saturday night's Writer Guild Awards in Los Angeles, and no one seemed friendlier than two of James Cameron's wives.
Wife #3, director Kathryn Bigelow and wife #5, Titanic costar Suzy Amis chatted up a storm and posed for cozy pics. Avatar director Cameron has taken five walks down the aisle, RadarOnline.com can report. He and Amis have been wed since 2000.
In what may be a sign of what's to come at the Academy Awards next month, the Bigelow-directed The Hurt Locker won for best original screenplay, Mark Boal took home the prize; and the best adapted screenplay went to George Clooney's Up In the Air.
Seth MacFarlane brought the house down several times as host. The Emmy folks really should look at the Family Guy creator to anchor their awards bash this fall.
Also at the event at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel were Meg Ryan, Hugh Laurie, Mila Kunis, Chris Rock and Cheryl Hines.

Inside sources say that Percy Jackson star, Logan Lerman has been cast in the Sony reboot of the Spider-Man film series. Director Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer) is set to helm the first film in what I’m guessing will be another trilogy although that has not been confirmed at this time.
The story takes the characters back to high school in the New York City borough of Queens. No word yet on who has been cast as Peter Parker’s love interest Mary Jane Watson formerly played by Kirsten Dunst or his best friend Harry Osborn previously played by Mr. James Franco.
Webb is in talks with Avatar director James Cameron to use his cameras and technique to film the entire movie in 3-D.
The official announcement will no doubt come shortly along with more details to follow.

Tiger Woods and his wife Elin Nordegren were headed out of Orlando together early Saturday evening, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.
What's more, the pair played an hour of tennis together late Saturday afternoon before preparing for the flight. RadarOnline.com then spotted them surrounded by heavy security heading for the airport in separate vehicles. They boarded one of Tiger's private jets and took off at 7 pm.
While not suggesting that their marriage is definitely back on, the developments do indicate a thaw in their relationship freeze.
Tiger spent the previous 45 days in Mississippi for therapy as a sex addict. It is not known at the moment if he and Elin were headed from Orlando back to the Pine Grove Clinic or to a different treatment facility.

Simon Cowell may be leaving American Idol after the current season but don’t think he doesn’t care about who his replacement will be. In a conference call Thursday with reporters, Cowell talked about who is right for his job, the rumors that he and Ellen DeGeneres are squabbling and why he thinks Lady Gaga should mentor the latest crop of Idol hopefuls.
There have been rumors that you and Ellen DeGeneres aren’t getting along. Could you address them?
I wouldn’t say that we didn’t get on well. I don’t know Ellen that well. It was a difficult position for her because she started work on the Hollywood week, which is quite a difficult show to do. There was one story I read that [said] I turned up an hour late for something and that she wanted to film. The truth was I think I turned up 15 or 20 minutes late because I did a press conference earlier in the day. And they did start filming, but that wasn’t a particular problem. There was no fall out. I was trying to guide her through the week and that was it really.
What do you miss most about Paula Abdul?
Well Paula is my friend, amazingly, even though we used to argue a lot. She was somebody I got really close to over the years. We’d hang out together after the show. She always made me laugh. I always thought she was funny. It was just like not having your friend on the show anymore, so I do miss her.
What does it feel like to have people say that you’re irreplaceable?
It’s very, very flattering. I really do appreciate it. Like I said before, the show goes on. I’m going to feel sad when it all ends.
What kind of person could replace you?
You have to be good looking. Secondly, you have to know what you’re talking about. I’m starting to realize with these shows that you have to put people on that actually know what they’re talking about. Rather than guessing, they really have to have experience, so that you cannot just criticize — you can offer constructive advice as well.
How much music experience is required for the judging job?
I think it’s really important. When we first started we had a record producer, an artist and an A&R man. So you’ve covered pretty much everything. I would say someone who has had managerial experience is always helpful. But in simplistic terms if you’re going to give a score you generally need to know what you’re talking about. I think over the years judges have been replaced by personalities. That in the long term will create problems because you’ve got to be able to spot a star. So whoever replaces me, my advice has always been find somebody who actually knows what they’re talking about.
How does that apply to Howard Stern?
He doesn’t seem to fit any of the criteria. He’s played records. Maybe that’s a good qualification — that he’s played records and is a DJ. But he obviously wants the job. Good luck to him.
You’ve said people need to be seasoned in the music business to be a judge. Are those comments directed at Ellen?
I was thinking that … people are going to misinterpret what I’m saying. I’ll tell you why I think Ellen is a good choice. She actually is very responsible for the people who perform on her show. I know that for a fact because I’ve dealt with her as a record label. She loves music and she’s been an artist. No it wasn’t meant to dis her credentials. It was specifically talking about my replacement because my role on the show is as someone who has run a successful record label. So that was specifically for my replacement.
Is it important that a woman win this year?
Depends what she’s like. We’ve had a few years now of guys winning the show. I would say that it’s definitely a better chance of a girl winning the show this year.
What would be the right type of woman to win?
You want somebody who represents what’s going on at the moment. I’d love to find a Taylor Swift … somebody who is relevant rather than just a contest winner.
What mentors are you hoping to work with during the season?
We should have Lady Gaga because she is the most relevant pop artist in the world at the moment. She’s very smart. I like her.

Do you see the family resemblance? I do. And so apparently does Grey’s Anatomy boss Shonda Rhimes. I know this because…
Sources confirm to me exclusively that Rhimes just hired the guy on the left (Jake McLaughlin, of Starz’ Crash) to play the younger brother of the guy on the right (that would be Justin Chambers’ Alex Karev).
Alex’s estranged bro, Aaron, checks into Seattle Grace as a patient in this season’s 19th episode. And as I pointed out in this week’s Ask Ausiello, the family reunion is rather momentous: This will mark the first time viewers will be meeting a member of Alex’s troubled clan.
What took so long? You’ll find out when the episode airs in April.

(Newser) – Ladies, have you ever envied men their care-free urinal-using ways? Then Sarah Dillon has the product for you. Dillon hopes to become, in a friend’s words, the “Betty Crocker of the pee business,” by selling GoGirl, a cheap, reusable silicon funnel that allows women to pee standing up. The ex-stay-at-home wife expects to sell a million GoGirls this year, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Dillon didn’t invent the device; a doctor did, naming it “FemMed.” Back then it “was white, flimsy, very clinical looking, and it didn’t go anywhere,” says Dillon. “We needed a woman to figure it out.” GoGirl has competitors—like Freshette, Pee-mates, and Shee-wee—but they’re generally more expensive and sold as niche products. Dillon doesn’t want niche. “There are some social hurdles,” she says, “but we’re trying to take it to the masses.”

Before landing Lost, Josh Holloway was a struggling actor who was thisclose to saying goodbye to Hollywood and hello to a career in real estate. Six years later, the 40-year-old Georgia native with the killer dimples is a bonafide TV star and fan favorite, thanks to his nuanced portrayal of Sawyer, the con man currently heartbroken over the death of almost-fiancĂ©e Juliet. Holloway recently sat down with PEOPLE in his trailer on the show’s Hawaii set to talk about what lies ahead for his character — No more Kate? A partnership with the island’s dark force? — as well as his post-Lost career plans and the joys of first-time fatherhood. Caution: spoilers ahead!
How’s poor Sawyer holding up when we see him again in Tuesday’s episode?
He’s still racked with grief and full of guilt for allowing [Juliet’s death] to happen.
But Juliet’s the one who let go of Sawyer’s grip and detonated the bomb!
That doesn’t erase the shame and guilt of not being able to hold on. At the core, it’s a man’s responsibility to protect, no matter what. Going forward, Sawyer’s all anger. He hooks up with Locke because he just doesn’t care to live anymore. He’s already dead inside.
Are things officially over then between Sawyer and Kate?
Any feelings he allows for Kate are a betrayal to Juliet and their love. As the character, I don’t want anything to do with it. It’s shameful to him. Yet there’s an inevitable attraction. I want the writers to honor what Sawyer and Kate have built together, but I don’t know what that looks like.
Is it fun to get to play two versions of Sawyer this season — one on the island and one in the flash-sideways?
With all the things I’ve been through with this character already, it’s interesting. I thought I’d just figured out Sawyer and now it’s like, “Not so fast!” But life is that way — we think we learn lessons but then they come back for another round.
Costars Matthew Fox and Evangeline Lilly have both said that they’re unlikely to do TV again after Lost ends. What are your plans?
I have a huge desire to do other things — TV, movies — and I feel like I’m just getting started. It’s gonna be a whole new adventure. I’ll always keep roots in Hawaii but inevitably, I must go to L.A. — that’s where the heart of the business is. It’ll be back to the audition room, and I’m game. I don’t want straight offers — I want to read for things. I want to prove to myself and to that town that I can go forward. I don’t want anything given to me.
Has becoming a father to 10-month-old daughter Java Kumala energized you?
Oh, yeah! It’s made me hungry, and so joyous about life in general. I feel a responsibility to be a better human being. To be her hero. I mean, I gotta be. I will be.
Does Josh Holloway change diapers?
All the time! I’m super fast. I bathe her, I do everything.
How are you feeling about the show winding down?
I cannot believe it, even though we’ve had quite awhile to digest it. It’s bittersweet. When every episode is done, it’s like, “Shoot, one more in the can.” It’s been an incredible ride for me as an actor. They’ve really taken Sawyer on a rollercoaster, and that’s been a pleasure to explore.
How would you like to see that rollercoaster end?
I would like to see Sawyer grow towards the light. He’s experienced that with Kate and then Juliet — that made him want to live again and live differently — but then it was all ripped away. So my hope for him is that he doesn’t wallow in the darkness.

It's a Novel
Hold on to your butts, Avatar story haters, James Cameron is officially putting pen to Pandoran paper once more to give fans an even bigger slice of the sci-fantasy by way of a prequel. Thing is, you won't need newfangled 3D glasses to take this journey to the stars, but you may still need an old fashioned pair of reading glasses. That's right, Cameron is writing an Avatar novel.
MTV spoke with Avatar producer Jon Landau, who clarified that Cameron's book is definitely not just a broader novelization of the events of the groundbreaking film nor is it taking the place of a second cinematic entry, rather it's purpose is to fill in some of the gaps and questions the film may have left open in regards to Dr. Augistine's school for the Na'vi, what Jake's life was like back on Earth before his brother Tommy was killed, and just how exactly Colonel Quaritch learned that everything on Pandora wanted to eat his eyes for jujubes.
Personally I'm interested enough in the lore of Avatar to give it a read, but I'm not so sure a novelized prequel is going to attract the many a filmgoers who felt the film's story was, to put it diplomatically, subpar. I also don't think the hopeful delivery date of late 2010 is going to help win over the unconverted, particularly so considering this is Cameron's first novel. But what say you? Are you taking a preemptive pass or will the Untitled Avatar Prequel end up on your bookshelf right next to Avatar: A Confidential Report on the Biological and Social History of Pandora? And if so, what stories are you hoping it tells?
